Enhanced Posting Description Placeholders

In 365 business Banking, you choose the placeholders of posting texts and messages to the recipient from a grouped list. Dates are also available as month, quarter, year or calendar week.

Business Value

Meaningful posting texts make business transactions traceable in accounting and controlling. In automated postings, placeholders produce consistent texts without manual rework. With date parts, period references such as Rent 06/2026 are created directly from the value date, and the message to the recipient names the due date, the payment discount date or your customer number at the vendor.

Feature Description

• Insert Placeholder: one button opens the list of all placeholders with a sample value, grouped by source. For posting texts, these are bank transaction, bank statement line, rule, split rule line, business partner and deduction; for the message to the recipient, document, dates, account and amount.
• Date parts as in Power BI: every date as date, day, month, month name, quarter, year or calendar week. {Value Date:Month}/{Value Date:Year} turns June 1, 2026 into 06/2026.
• Additional placeholders: statement date, bank account name, currency, business partner no. and name in posting texts; posting date of the payment, document date, due date, payment discount date, our account no., remaining amount, original amount and currency in the message to the recipient.
• An editor is also available for the Deduction Posting Text of remittance advices.
• Extensible: partner apps add placeholders of their own through events.
