User settings

User settings specify whether address validation's suggested changes are applied automatically without confirmation, per user or globally.

These settings apply only to 365 business Address Validation in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Open user settings

  1. On the Address Validation Setup, choose the User Settings action, or search directly for Address Validation User Settings.
  2. The list shows the columns User ID, Setting, and Enabled.

User ID column visible only for setup users

Users without the SUPER permission set do not see the User ID column and see only their own row. As an administrator with SUPER, you see and can change the User ID column, and therefore global settings as well as the settings of other users.

Supported setting

SettingDescriptionDefault valueMinimum version
Always apply address changeAutomatically applies suggested changes from address validation and completion, without a prior check via Compare Address.No17.5.389.0

The Setting field is an enum value with two values: a value without its own label (blank, default, no effect) and Always apply address change. A row with this setting and Enabled set to Yes skips the address comparison for the affected user.

Global settings

A global setting applies to all users who do not have their own setting for the same setting type. For a global setting, the User ID field remains empty. If a user later creates their own row with their User ID, that row takes precedence over the global setting for them.
