Data protection and transmitted data
This page describes which address data 365 business Address Validation transmits to which service for validation and for prediction.
Address validation
For address validation, 365 business Address Validation calls the validation service of the 365 business API. Only the fields of the address being checked are transmitted:
| Field | Transmitted |
|---|---|
| Address | always |
| Address 2 | if filled |
| Post Code | if filled |
| City | always |
| Country/Region Code | always; if the field is empty, 365 business Address Validation transmits the country code of the company |
Name, phone number, tax number, and other fields of the record are not transmitted to the validation service.
Address prediction
For address prediction, while you type, 365 business Address Validation transmits the text already entered in the Name or Address field together with a session token to the map service of the 365 business API. The session token groups the individual requests of one entry into a single billing unit, but does not contain any address or customer data. Once you select a suggestion, 365 business Address Validation then retrieves the full address data for that suggestion from the same service.
No transmission without input
Address prediction transmits only the text you actually enter into the Name or Address field. No other fields of the record are read or transmitted for this.
Storing the result
365 business Address Validation stores checked addresses, and addresses taken over through address prediction, in the address directory within your company in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, so the same address does not have to be transmitted to a service again.
