# Retrieve Adyen transactions

How 365 business Banking imports the transactions from your Adyen settlements, including fees, into the payment reconciliation journal.

**Applies to:** Adyen

## Retrieve transactions

In the payment reconciliation journal of the Adyen account or in the list of payment reconciliation journals, choose **Retrieve Bank Transactions**. Business Central reads the settlement details report of every payout batch Adyen has published since the last retrieval and creates a line per movement. Movements are payments, refunds, chargebacks and fees.

As with any bank account, you can [automate](../../bank-reconciliation-automation.mdx) the retrieval.

<Callout type="info" title="Retrieval by batch">
Adyen publishes a merchant account's movements per payout batch. A batch that is not yet published cannot be retrieved. For this reason, Business Central stores the **Last Settlement Batch Number** instead of a date and advances it only after the lines are created in the payment reconciliation journal. One retrieval reads at most 25 batches; the next retrieval continues after them. This applies to retrieval via the settlement reports; with a **Balance Account ID**, Business Central retrieves by date.

## Fees

Adyen shows the costs of each transaction in the settlement report. 365 business Banking creates them as separate lines so that you can post them separately from the payment, for example with a reconciliation rule: [Payment service provider fees](../fees.mdx).

## Apply

You apply the payments in the payment reconciliation journal. For many payments with the same amount, use [direct matching](../../bank-reconciliation/direct-matching.mdx) via transaction ID or payment reference.

## Troubleshooting

| Message | Cause and remedy |
|---|---|
| "No Adyen report credentials are set up for this bank account. …" | The report user and password (with the Adyen Balance Platform, the **Balance Account ID**) are missing on the **Transaction Retrieval** FastTab of the **Adyen Connection Setup**. See [Connect Adyen](connect.mdx). |
| "The Adyen setup for this bank account is incomplete …" | There is no **Adyen Connection Setup** for the bank account, or the connection is not authenticated. Connect the account again with the **Connect Bank Account** wizard. |
