# Banks list

The Banks list in 365 business Banking: which institutions can be reached via PSD2/XS2A and for which you have an EBICS participant.

The **Banks** list contains the institutions known to this installation. Most come from the catalogue of the finAPI bank connection. The two columns that indicate whether statements and payments are transferred over the bank connection also come from this catalogue. Payment service providers enter themselves. A bank at which you have set up an EBICS participant is entered by that participant.

<Callout type="info" title="Banks not listed">
The catalogue and the two columns **Statements over the Bank Connection** and **Payments over the Bank Connection** apply only to PSD2/XS2A via finAPI. Through **EBICS** and **camt/pain files**, any institution that offers these channels can be reached, regardless of whether it is listed here. See [Choose a bank connection](../concepts/choose-bank-connection.mdx)

## Open the list

Choose the **Search** icon, enter **Banks** and open the page. If the list is empty, Business Central retrieves the catalogue automatically the first time it is opened.

## Columns

| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| **Bank Name** | name of the institution |
| **City** / **Country/Region Code** | where the institution is located |
| **SWIFT-Code** | BIC of the institution |
| **Bank Branch No.** | bank sort code |
| **Statements over the Bank Connection** | Whether finAPI can read transactions at this bank. The column is not relevant for EBICS or camt files. |
| **Payments over the Bank Connection** | Whether finAPI can send payments at this bank. The column is not relevant for EBICS or pain files. |
| **EBICS Participants** | The EBICS participants this company has registered at this bank. Choosing the value opens them. |

Below the list, **Summary** shows **Total Banks**.

## EBICS banks

Many institutions you reach via EBICS are not in finAPI's catalogue. To list these banks anyway, an **EBICS participant** enters the institution it is registered at, with **Bank Name**, **SWIFT-Code** and **Bank Branch No.** from its card. If the institution is already in the catalogue, only missing details are added; existing details are not overwritten.

The two columns **Statements over the Bank Connection** and **Payments over the Bank Connection** remain empty for such entries, because they refer to finAPI. Your account reaches this bank via EBICS.

If you delete the participant, the entry remains in the list. An unused institution has no effect. If the entry were deleted, bank accounts that still refer to it would lose the bank name.

How to set up a participant is described in [Set up an EBICS participant](../connections/ebics/participant.mdx).

## FactBoxes

**Bank Logo** shows the institution's logo, if the bank connection supplies one. An EBICS participant uses the same logo for its own image when the institution is listed here. See [Image](../connections/ebics/participant.mdx#image).

**Bank Features** shows which functions finAPI generally supports at this institution:

| Group | Fields |
|---|---|
| **General** | **AIS Supported**, **PIS Supported** |
| **AIS Capabilities** | **Standing Orders Download**, **Pending Transactions Download** |
| **PIS Capabilities** | **SEPA Direct Debit**, **SEPA Money Transfer**, **SEPA Instant Money Transfer**, **SEPA Collective Money Transfer**, **SEPA Future Dated Money Transfer**, **SEPA Standing Order**; for institutions that offer them, also **Domestic Money Transfer**, **Domestic Collective Money Transfer** and **Domestic Future Dated Money Transfer** |

These are the capabilities of the institution. What applies to a single account is shown in the **Capabilities** FactBox on the bank account card. See [Bank account capabilities](capabilities.mdx). An institution may offer instant credit transfers, for example, without your account being enabled for them.

## Update

**Update** retrieves the catalogue again. After the question "Do you want to update the bank list?", every licensed account information service that keeps a bank list is queried. Unlicensed services are skipped.
