# Licensing models and address prediction API

Address validation and address prediction are licensed through fixed licensing models, and a new API binds address prediction into custom entities.

**Version:** 18.9

## What's new

Address validation and address prediction are licensed through fixed models: address validation through **Company** (per company) or **Tenant** (per tenant or on-premises environment), address prediction additionally through **User** (per active user). In addition, the **bdev.Address Prediction API** codeunit provides a public interface that partners can use to add address prediction to their own tables and pages.

## Benefit

License costs are predictable in advance, regardless of how many validations and predictions are actually triggered. With the new API, partners can also offer address prediction on tables and pages that are not part of 365 business Address Validation.

The license today also covers validating resource addresses through the **Resource Address Validation** switch and predicting addresses on purchase documents through the **Purchase Document Address Prediction** switch.

## Where it is set up

You manage the licensing model and the trial period in the 365 business development extension license management in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, not in the [Address Validation Setup](../../setup/address-validation-setup.mdx) itself. For developers, see [Address Prediction API](/en-us/al-developer/365businessaddressvalidation/address-prediction-api).
